Our Mission
The Domestic Violence Abuse Awareness Society has been organized to promote the involvement of MSUB students in raising awareness of, preventing, and reacting against the many cases of domestic violence and abuse both reported and unreported.
Our Purpose
The purpose of DVAAS is primarily to organize the “Running Out of Silence” walk/run for domestic violence and abuse.
This fun run/walk will be held within the Billings Community, and be held on the first Saturday of October each year. October is domestic abuse awareness month.
DVAAS will organize this walk/run each year, requesting the support of local businesses, organizations and individuals to fund the event. Proceeds will benefit local organizations, such as the YWCA, that aid victims of these situations.
Membership
DVAAS will be open to all students enrolled in Montana State University Billings regardless of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, color, disability, national origin, age, or marital status.
All club members must attend and participate in the walk/run in October, and participate in fundraising and organizational efforts leading up to the event.
