Raising Funds for Running Out Of Silence 2013
Domestic Violence Abuse Awareness Society (DVAAS) will hold the Running Out of Silence Kick Off Dinner on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The dinner will be held at the MSUB Downtown campus located at 112 N. Broadway in Billings, Mont. This dinner will be a chance for DVAAS to give special thanks to those that participated last year in the Running Out of Silence event, to reestablish the need for awareness and prevention of domestic violence, and to generate monetary support for the next Running Our of Silence event.
Over this last year, DVAAS has worked hard at different fundraising opportunities to help raise money to hold this year’s Running Out of Silence event.. Running Out of Silence is a large fun run and walk with vendors, food, and entertainment. The event is includes activities for adults and children and it is a great way to raise money and awareness for domestic violence. Running Out of Silence is held in October as a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Last year, MSU Billings students raised money for the Running Out of Silence event by calling businesses for donations, sponsorships, and vendor inquires. MSU Billings college students also helped by volunteering at the event. This year, DVAAS would like to bring the students and the community closer together by having a dinner to celebrate the kick off for the next Running Out of Silence event.
DVAAS is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and money in the hopes of preventing domestic violence.
